Call for Editors 2026
Florence University Press and the Journal of Agriculture and Environment for International Development (JAEID) invite applications for the editorial board of the journal.
The Journal of Agriculture and Environment for International Development (JAEID) is an international, multidisciplinary journal publishing original research and technical papers concerning activities devoted to International Development in the Global South, particularly associated with marginalized and resource-limited contexts.
JAEID is indexed on SCOPUS and has an Impact Factor 2024 of 1.1.
We are looking for candidates with a broad interest and demonstrable expertise in the journals’ topic. Candidates from the Global South are encouraged to apply. The Editorial Board members’ names will appear on the journal’s homepage. The overall workload requested for an editor is to handle around 10 papers per year.
In particular, Section Editors are required for the:
- Section "Agricultural production and food security"
- Section "Rural development, economics and social sciences"
But applications for other sections could be considered.
Given its vision and mission, the Journal is a Diamond Open Access (including no article processing and submission costs, no subscription fees) and it is developed with the volunteer work of the editors, this meaning that the appointed editors will be occasionally asked to perform standard editing tasks (e.g. manuscript copyediting in MS Word).
The appointment of the candidates selected by the selection committee, will need to be formally approved and appointed by the Council of the Department of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Forestry (DAGRI), University of Florence, Italy.
Appointments will be made before the end of June 2026.
