Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission should include 2 items: A title page and a manuscript. Both files should be submitted in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format
  • A cover letter is also mandatory and should include:
    1. Explanation the importance of the manuscript (why your manuscript should be published)
    2. Explanation of any conflicts of interest.
    3. The name, affiliation, and email address of up to five potential Referees. Appropriate Referees should be knowledgeable about the subject but have no close connection with any of the authors. In addition, Referees should be from institutions other than (and possibly countries other than) those of any of the Authors. The editors of the Journal may or may not contact the suggested Referees.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in this section.
  • Please be aware that, due to the increasing popularity of JAEID and the higher quality requirements, only about 10% of papers (with a decreasing trend) are currently retained for publication.
  • The language of the Journal is English. Starting from 2015, papers in other languages are not accepted.
  • Accessible and inclusive publishing: The manuscript adheres to requirements outlined in the "The Creating Accessible Content Guide"
This guide will be useful for authors in preparation of their manuscripts and for editors in formatting materials for publication and adding content to journal websites. Carefully read the Guide here.

Author Guidelines

Title page

Title page should include:

  • Running head of no more than 40-character spaces
  • Title: The title should be concise, informative and comprehensible to readers outside the field. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae whenever possible.
  • Author names and affiliations: Please indicate under the title the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check that all names are accurately spelled. Present the authors’ affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript number immediately after the author’s name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name and the e-mail address of each author.
  • Corresponding author: Clearly indicate with an asterisk the person that will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing, publication, and post-publication. Ensure that the e-mail address is given and the contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.
  • Acknowledgment of any presentation of this material, to whom, when, and where.
  • Acknowledgment of financial support, including grant numbers.

JAEID uses a double-blind peer-review process. The manuscript should begin with a title followed by the abstract and then the text. Acknowledgements should not be included in the manuscript.

  • The document text is Times New Roman, double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses).
  • Manuscript should be “spell checked” and “grammar checked”.
  • The abstract should be at maximum 300 words.
  • The keywords (in English) must be limited to 6 terms.
  • The body text of the paper should be divided into:
  1. Introduction,
  2. Materials and Methods,
  3. Results,
  4. Discussion,
  5. Conclusions,
  6. References
  • The main body of text must be suitably divided under headings. Latin expressions must be written in Italic.
  • All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • Tables
    • Tables should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and given a caption. Notes and references within tables should be included with the tables, separately from the main text.
    • Tables are requested to be inserted in the standard MS Word format without colors
  • Illustrations
    • All graphs, diagrams, drawings, and photographs should be referred as Figures, which should be numbered in Arabic numerals. All illustrations must have captions.
    • Illustrations should be supplied also on separate files, in a form suitable for reproduction without retouching. Illustrations should permit reduction, with lines drawn proportionally thicker and symbols larger than required in the printed version.
    • Permission to reproduce must be obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Internet).
  • References
    • References should include only the works quoted in the text and should be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper conform to the current journal style. The APA 6th reference standard is requested. Authors are strongly suggested to use a reference manager software such as Mendeley.
    • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
    • All references mentioned in the Reference List must be cited in the text, and vice versa
