Florence University Press and the Journal of Agriculture and Environment for International Development (JAEID) are inviting candidates for the editorial board of the journal, for a second round of applications.

The Journal of Agriculture and Environment for International Development (JAEID) is an international, multidisciplinary journal publishing original research and technical papers concerning activities devoted to International Development in the Global South, particularly associated with marginalized and resource-limited contexts.

The topics covered by the journal comprehend, but are not limited to:

• Agronomy, crop production and food security studies in rural and urbanised marginal contexts
• Sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture (e.g. soil, land, water)
• Remote sensing applications, forestry and natural resources evaluation
• Rural development, inclusive of economic analysis, and social sciences studies concerning farmand environmental management
• Livestock production, aquaculture and fisheries and conservation of animal biodiversity
• Climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation  strategies related to previous topics 

Given its vision and mission, the Journal is fully open access (no article processing and submission costs, no subscription fees) and it is developed with the volunteer work of the editors, this meaning that the appointed editors will be occasionally asked to perform standard editorial tasks (e.g. manuscript copyediting in MS Word). The overall workload requested for an editor is to handle around 10 papers per year.

JAEID is indexed on SCOPUS and has an Impact Factor 2023 of 0.5. 

We are looking for candidates for the following sections:

• "Agricultural production and food security"
• "Rural development, economics and social sciences"

The appointment of the candidates selected by the selection committee will need to be formally approved and appointed by the Council of the Department of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Forestry (DAGRI), University of Florence, Italy.

Appointments will be made before the end of 2024.
